Making a Come Back (One Foot in Front of the Other)
In the words of Lil Kim (a shoe lover herself), "I was gone for a minute but I'm back with the jump off." I started my shoe blog back in 2016, posted one blog, and then wound up having to push it to the side because life can throw some rather big curve balls at a person. Well fast forward to 2017, have started my own business, I'm feeling refreshed, and I am ready to get back into the swing of things, and begin again to share with the world, my passion and love of shoe fashion.
In my time away, I have delved into a lot of different styles that in my past I probably would have never looked at, because the shoe didn't have a heel or the heel wasn't high enough. I have really started to add some new colors, that I may not have considered before. I'm broadening my shoe horizon, and in so I am broadening my wardrobe horizon and pulling from a variety of ideas that I see and wouldn't have given a second thought before. This time away has been a fun, learning experience for me and a growing experience for my shoe closet.
I decided to come back in the spring because I am very much a SPRING BABY. Spring is all about renewal and rebirth, "April showers, bring May flower!" My focus is purely on the everyday women and what is hot on her foot right now, or what she is feeling about current trends, up and coming trends, or what the shoe world may need more of. No I am not saying I won't bring up a celebrity here and there rocking an awesome shoe, or put together a great outfit that really shows off the shoe they are wearing, but there is so much more I feel to show off and learn from the woman standing behind you say in the grocery store, or during your work commute. Don't be afraid to say, "I love those shoes," or even be bold enough to ask, "where do you get your shoes from?" A compliment from another woman means more to me than one from a guy. Also, why not help her out. Maybe she wants to treat herself to a great pair of shoes and doesn't know where to even begin. Usually when a woman gives me a compliment on my shoes, I'll be honest, they are either coming from JustFab or ShoeDazzle, they probably make up 90% of my shoe wardrobe. I also have shoes that I've gotten out of thrift stores as well as red bottoms in my collection. So I have options to give in all price ranges.
What happened was a found what I wanted this blog to be about all around me. Women who I know, women who are complete strangers. I found myself focusing more and more on the shoes of these women and I found that they, you out there living your life, gave me so much to talk about and to speak about when it comes to shoe fashion. I found new ideas for not only this but for me. I allowed myself to take more chances in that time than ever before. And now I want to share it all with the world. My love, my passion for shoes. So I hope you can welcome me back with open arms and come with me to once again start a journey, that I am renewed and excited about.
Big Hugs,
